July 10, 2009 - Unfortunately heavy cork influence, but its very convincing quality is remarkable anyway.

December 20, 2007 - Pale yellow in color. nose of apple, vanilla, oak and pear. Opened up very nicely over an hour with good fruits and just the right amount of oak, not at all over-bearing. Long, creamy mid-palate, medium-long finish. Very good value Burgundy - foodandwineblog.com.

August 2, 2006 - No formal notes, but excellent clean, crisp, long finish.

March 10, 2006 - Excellent, especially with crab cakes. The retailer suggested this would remind me of a Montrachet, and he was on the money. I will add this to the collection.

March 1, 2006 - I enjoy this, but with so little experience with white Burgs, I'm not sure what to make of it. It has a very rich taste to it, which I enjoy.

I need to buy more Burg (red & white)...

Burgundy-Report

(Boillot Jean-Marc Montagny 1er Cru) Pale lemon-yellow. A woody nose at first - takes a little air to bring more balance - and a tight core of mainly pear fruit. The palate fleshes out with aeration - just a little weedy to start. The concentration is backend-loaded providing a very nice finish. Though the fresh acidity is only-just ripe enough, the texture is nicely smooth. For only 2/3 the price of Leflaive's (for instance) Bourgogne, this is a good value wine - less sweet than the cheaper-still Jadot 02 Bourgogne, but more complex.
