June 2, 2022 - 2011 Chardonnay: Liquid Farm Chardonnay Golden Slope: 72% Rita’s Crown, 17% Clos Pepe, 11% Zotovich Vineyards: 340 cases: Popped and tasted and figured it would die quickly if I decanted, could have helped first glass though. Color in the Zalto’s was lovely nice golden hues showing the story of age. Muted rustic chardonnay focused on stone fruits; particularly apple and mature white peach. Typically this wine is among the richest styling, which has helped this age gracefully. Medium plus weight, really a palate coating wine with silky mouthfeel. There is wet stone and minerality going into a medium plus finish. Not super lingering and I think that is just a bit of missing liveliness. Still very lovely wine with food and on its own, a fun drink.

I think the oldest Liquid Farms I have gotten my hands on in recent years. Thinking back , I still really remember loving the 2013s, but this is very good. Just not the vibrancy left that the 2013 had, a bit more rustic. You would never be tired of those 13 wines when enjoyed.

March 1, 2021 - Drank from Magnum. This bottle was still showing beautifully. Great minerality and roundness. I am not sure how much longer this will go but still in a prime drinking window

September 25, 2020 - Still going strong at age 9 (and still showing oak, for that matter), with good balance on vibrant acidity. Notes of sweet apple flesh and saline elements.

November 24, 2018 - One of the best LF bottles we’ve opened. Perfectly balanced rich and crisp. Too bad it’s my last bottle.

November 25, 2017 - I like this wine - period. Ready to drink now and I don't think this one should be kept for the long-term.

July 16, 2017 - Pear, lemon, ginger, very enjoyable juice, but I somehow feel that the winemakers tried to turbocharge everything to compensate for the vintage. Fully mature and approachable, but should remain in prime drinking form for 3-4 years at least.

April 26, 2017 - Popped and poured just below cellar temp. Light lemon yellow hue, complex aromas of flint, citrus zest, orange blossom, under-ripened stone fruits, white pepper and hints of vegetal funk. Definitely veering towards tertiary on the nose. Flavors of lemon, green apple and an impression of stoney minerals are complimented by a smooth, silky mouthfeel that's contrasted by moderate-plus acidity to create an exhilarating sense of tension. In an amazing place right now, perhaps even peaking.

October 30, 2016 - From mag, been open about a day. Drinking the leftovers--it sat overnight in the fridge under open cork with about 2 glasses left in it. Several cool things going on here. The palate has a bitter note, like a citrus/lemon skin. Also juicy yellow apple, lemon peel and some vanilla shadings. Finishes with the same lemon and apple tones, spicy and flinty finish. Enough acid here to keep this lively and with the slate note, this drinks great now and probably is entering a peak place, given the vintage and the smooth (but lively) nature of the wine.

October 17, 2015 - My notes from Apr'13 were still on point for this one; it really had not budged at all. Give this one time at a proper temperature (cellar, not fridge temp) and lots of air to unfold. Not sure what lies ahead, though seems like this chard has a long life and could be easily held for several years more.
