September 1, 2020 - Elegant and perfumed while still retaining a deep confident power, this is a bit like the glorious bit of sunset after a storm. Dark forest fruits still show through, but offer a bright line of acidity through the butcher's shop and iron oxide minerality. Very fine across the palate, there is structure holding everything together. Really well done and lovely with wild boar.

February 23, 2020 - Monthly Tasting Group: Northern Rhones (Lela, Bloomington MN): Here's my brilliant observation: Wine is a funny thing. A note from WIML in 2006 suggests the wine is fading. And I don't doubt for a minute his conclusion at the time give that particular bottle. Frankly, I didn't have much expectation for this. Yet, what we got was a beautifully mature and complex wine that delivers on all sensory levels. Go figure. These things are living organisms that sometimes defy logic and reason with their beauty and at others confound us that they are dead or dying. Dark red color with a 1+cm margin. Drank a glass over 2 hours. High toned aromatics on the nose, quite floral, raspberry liqueur, ground pencil lead, smoke, roasted met, quite sultry. The palare has dried earth, dried raspberry, citrus, blakc cherry, and five spice with integrated tannins. Nice bottle indeed.

April 18, 2019 - Holder stadig. Stor udvikling den første time. Ikke tydelig nordrhon. Tanniner tydelige, men fint integreret. God balance og kompleksitet.

October 24, 2015 - Definitely showed some age but not dead yet. Nice wine.

March 26, 2015 - Delicate for a Northern Rhone...actually pretty. Not as much sauvage as expected for a Cote Rotie. Nice acid and good length. Drinking very well considering the vintage.
