June 5, 2022 - Drinking nicely!
March 25, 2018 - PnP, with primary aromas of blackberry and cigar box, and a whiff of mint chocolate in the background. Bramble up front on the palate, with modest notes of tart cherry, milk chocolate and tobacco, and acidity that perks up on the finish to keep it honest.
September 4, 2017 - medium body, ripe fruit, good earth and oak, modest finish
October 16, 2016 - Smooth.
July 10, 2016 - needs 45 min decant... slightly bitter 1st open but smoothed exceptionally at 45 min mark; keep cool
March 28, 2016 - Overly sweet in my opinion. Didn't really show its zin nature. Felt a little let down.
August 30, 2015 - A delicious bottle of wine that is in its prime drinking window currently. Very smoothed out tannins with very big, almost jammy, fruit. Some very mild black pepper tones hiding in the finish mixed in with the delicious fruit. FF zin is one of those bottles that everytime I drink it, I wonder why I dont do it more often. They seem to be consistently delicious from year to year and I can typically find it for 30ish per btl. Shout out to P&K for introducing us to the LPR!
August 15, 2015 - very consistent, good wine... age is helping smooth it out and nose is opening up ... has many years left in the tank to improve
January 24, 2015 - Good restraint, baked strawberry and prune, soft tannin, long finish.
February 9, 2014 - great QPR, with nice nose and palate... finish a little lacking... hopefully will improve with a little more age
