January 14, 2013 - Back to life with this bottle! The merest hint of fruit left, no perceptible tannin, just a smooth, mature easy drinking claret. Sandalwood, liquorice and a dash of cumin. Bargain.

December 16, 2012 - Picking up wine like this at auction is always going to throw up variable results and this bottle was nowhere near as good as the first. If not quite dead then it was certainly close to it!

December 11, 2012 - Having picked this up at auction for next to nothing I wasn't expecting much but this shows how well even secondary Bordeaux can age. The tannins have melted away leaving behind a pale garnet wine that displays some of the character of more illustrious neighbours. Smooth, mature notes of leather and tobacco with cedar and a touch of sous-bois. Still some fruit and although not overly complex, this is delicious to crack open mid-week and delighted that I managed to pick up a case of 12.
