September 24, 2016 - Smooth, slightly tannic but with smokey aftertaste. Very good with or without food. Drink now.

September 2, 2016 - Consistent with my 2 previous 2016 bottles of this wine. Very good wine. Remarkable QPR.

August 20, 2016 - A prototype example of what I love about Rioja. Earth, cherry, cedar and tobacco nose. Velvet soft. Concentrated tobacco and cherry palate with some leather, black fruit, earth and spice. Pretty good structure and can likely age a bit, It's evolved since I last drank this vintage about 18 months ago.

August 20, 2016 - From 75cl, perfect cork, decanted 1 hour. Black tea, ripe red and blackberry fruit, cedar scent; velvet and finest-grained sandpaper texture (the former is the ripe fruit [more blackberry], the alcohol and a hint of glycerine; the latter the bright, grippy redcurrant-pip tannins); very fine, long, still-tannic finish. Exemplary new-style Rioja, a great pleasure now, but no hurry. 90(-91)P

August 12, 2016 - Bretty upon opening, but with air, the Brett blows off, to reveal a nice Rioja (albeit in a more modern style than I prefer). I detect flavors and aromas of black cherry, orange peel, rose petal, Ceylon orange pekoe tea, and vanilla, with fine lingering tannins. Good stuff...I wish I had more.

The wine is still young and will last for years. Worth a bulk purchase if you like modernish Rioja.
