November 17, 2014 - PnP and followed over several hours. Dark fruit profile with smoke, tar, and toast on the nose. Quite structured on the palate, seemingly dominated by oak tannins with the fruit hiding in the background. Medium finish. Needs several years to soften.
October 12, 2014 - Note from second night of being opened. Dusty blackberry, cranberry, hint of oak. Pretty firm tannins. Would like to see this in 3~5 years. Will pick up a bottle or 2 and attempt to hide them.

October 10, 2014 - 16 degrees - 1 hr of air. Nice fruits and complexity.

September 20, 2014 - What a gem! Light entry, charming palate of tart red berries, followed by a dry and punctuative vanilla kiss of a finish. This wine straddles both sides of pleasure (the old and the new, the feminine and the masculine) and gives more to each side :-) Very balanced.

August 29, 2014 - From a half bottle. Very nice Rioja hitting all the classic notes but plenty more generous with its fruit. Leather, charred oak, a bit of orange peel encapsulate gentle red fruits. Palate has a nice tension with acidity and fruit in great harmony, ending medium in length with soft tannins. A beauty, and a steal at its price point.1 person found this helpful Comment
