Straigt out of the bottle ... . but please decante these drc, let them stand up for 3-4 days and use a very good filter and leave the last sip and deposit in the bottle, it's makes a huge difference .... it's a great great wine, mind crossing, very much it's own - deep cool fruit, chewy texture, I had less japanese soja on this than normal ... . the bouquet is so classy - loved it !Agree on the remarks, it's a La Tache easier to understand / Drink than normal, it just a brilliant wine.

September 24, 2023 - Brilliant. Nose is 99, constantly evolving over the course of dinner. Heavily red fruited, strawberry, herbs, spices like clove, so beautiful. Palate med+ body but deep and amazing intensity, interesting core of mineral, iron, cherry, spices like cinnamon, perfect balance. Good acid, excellent with cassoulet. Loved this. Wide open and very showy. Worth it? No question.

September 24, 2023 - Dinner with the wine group - La Tache Dinner (Cindy's Place): Light ruby, slightly cloudy; intense aromatics, like beyond belief, spice, strawberry, floral, a little clove and cinnamon; palate is medium bodied, medium-plus acidity, strawberry, some spice, not quite as crazy as the nose but still well balanced with excellent acidity and balanced alcohol; finish is long. Drinking well now. 97-98

7/1/2004 (link)(Romanée-Conti La Tâche) Once more medium, medium-plus colour. The nose is surprisingly subdued, powdery red fruits, but after 15 minutes still didn't get going. On the palate reminiscent of how the Romanée Conti showed in London, understated but very pure. Despite wonderful depth, very reserved indeed. No La Tâche fireworks this time, but impeccably balanced and very long.

3/1/2004 (link)(Romanée-Conti La Tâche) A funny wine, in a large glass on the serving table this looked the lightest wine on display, whereas take a modest serving in a tasting glass and it looks altogether darker. The nose is La Tâche - dense, heavy laden branches of red cherries and raspberries, then a little cedar and blood-orange too. Then the nose closes down for a while only to return with tar and mint. Not as incredibly changing as the 2000 at the same stage last year, but like I said - it's still La Tâche. In the mouth it's much more explosive than the Richebourg with a super finish that's carried on by a wave of perfect acidity. If anything, these are the grainiest tannins of all the wines - but then it's all relative!
