March 9, 2024 - A trio of 2001 DRC. I've had bad luck with the RSV, but tonight I thought it excellent and the best of the trio. The Richebourg was very good and showed well. The Grands Echezeaux was also very good, but slightly less enticing than many previous bottles, and it's a wine I've loved over the years.

March 8, 2024 - DRC Montrachet Vertical: Soft and sexy, this is a real treat. Beguiling tannins and red cherry fruit, just brings you back for more. Continued to evolve in the glass. WOTF.

December 6, 2023 - Beautiful bouquet with flowers, perfume, coffee beans and red fruit. Palate was ethereal and charming but just lacking that density and structure compared to the 02 on the side tonight. 94-95

October 4, 2023 - this was my favorite of the the three , athough its the least mature. the 9=6 is a little dense for me and the 02 is its baby brother but he 01 is as Eugene put it hight toned, bright and incredibly elegeant. Its a wine of complexity and depth, with notes of raspberry fruit, spice, a touch of leather and new oak. On the palate the wine is deep and offers lovely bright complexity, with good length and well-integrated tannins. this will only get better

September 14, 2023 - Red color, not very deep, nearly translucent. Mainly red fruit (strawberries), earthy and wonderful tertiary notes of old Pinot from a great terroir. This bottle has been sleeping 10 years in my cellar, yesterday was the evening to open it with friends. All in all a perfectly ripe good old Burgundy, perfectly in its drinking window.

February 22, 2023 - This is a very special bottle for me. It was on my wishlist for years now, and here we are.

Dark ruby in color with a wide cloudy reddish/ brick rim.

Dry on the palate with great complexity and mouthfeel. Easy drinking and smooth.

Showing red currants, cherries, strawberries, light earth, tobacco leaf, herbs, black pepper and dark chocolates.

Long finish with fine grained tannins.

Elegant and fruit forward. Rich, and not showing its age at all.

Needed a few hours to open up properly, but good right out of the bottle too.

This 22 year old Pinot Noir from Côte D'or feels very young, and will continue to age nicely in the next 20 years and beyond.

Only 12,352 bottles were produced. This is bottle number 633.

    13% alcohol by volume.

    93 points.

    $5,000.

December 15, 2022 - One of the best reds at an over-the-top DRC dinner. I last had this 8 yrs ago and the improvement is staggering. This wine has fruit, depth, grip and a hundred other qualities. Lots of acidity, floral notes and some emerging souls bois. This just came together perfectly and it’s hard to imagine a better RSV outside of Leroy. Should grow gracefully for a long time.

September 28, 2022 - Darker, red/black fruit profile. Very classical. Increasingly perfumed red fruit palate. Absolutely a point on the nose but still a bit reserved on the palate.
