January 18, 2022 - One of the most expensive wines of the night and it was lucky to have a sip. However it was a miss and hit to me. It could not give me as expected for such a price of Tesla 3. A cloudy brick red and got darker as in the glass. Light perfume of floral, Asian spices, cameral, medium body with smooth palate, but not as a ball feel … shame. Did it change my impression after 3 hours? No! It was the same when I got the second glass afterwards. Probably it was not in a good storage condition then, I thought, it was tired and old.

June 12, 2021 - Classic DRC stems and spice though somewhat restrained aromatically overall without the range or complexity I expected for this wine. Finely textured and regal. A great wine by normal standards but far short of my expectations, especially given how incredible '90 Riche and LT are.

April 22, 2021 - This is a really hit or miss vintage for Conti with a ton of bottle variation. Light floral aromatics, but always a disappointing vintage for me aromatically. Where’s the fireworks? Much depth on palate, quite sweet. (1598/7446)

March 20, 2019 - Last tasted in 2007 at our RC tasting, this wine has opened up considerably, not that it is close to 30 years old. It has the expected Asian spice on the nose but the "hint of green" that Aubert often talks about is subsumed by layers of rich, succulent and earthy fruit on the attack - pure velvet! In an evening of some amazing wines, this stood out, not for being showy but for its breed, quiet power and way of discreetly informing the taster, "I am better than everything else!"
