July 23, 2023 - Nose has glycerin, black fruit, menthol, and tinge of green overtones very youthful nose. Sweet black fruit and medium weight on the palate. Beautiful long finish Nowhere near peak age.

January 7, 2023 - I always open a GTS with fond memories of my childhood watching Mr. Seaver pitch for the NY Mets including enjoying him banter with his teammates (Bud Harrelson, Jerry Grote, et al) on Kiner's Korner after another pitching gem. The passion he brought to the game is also evident in the wine bearing his initials. I know Tom spent endless hours tending the vines ensuring the bounty produced was the best it could be...

The wine itself is just fantastic..endless blue and black fruits with a complexity on the palate that keeps you going back for more. And the finish sails on and on...Thanks Tom, your legend lives on!

December 25, 2020 - We open a bottle of GTS every Christmas day (and a few special occasions during the year). For whatever reason, this 2010 bottle was less exciting than other vintages, and I found that it never fully opened up to reveal all its flavor. It's still a rich and remarkably well-made wine, but this bottle didn't quite live up to other GTS we've had over the years.

December 13, 2020 - Very intriguing nose of floral perfume. I did think this lacked acidity and was flabby on the palate but I was the lone dissenter. I was also more bearish on its ability to age.

June 6, 2020 - Decanted for one hour. Nose of blackberry, currant, mocha and spice. Ripe black fruit, mocha, spice and fine tannins on the palate. Very long finish. Full bodied. Served with grilled Delmonico and blue cheese, black truffle butter.

April 4, 2020 - Staggeringly fabulous wine. This wine hit us in all the right places! Decant this to remove the solids. I found lots of them. Great deep red and dark red fruit flavors with some spicy wood notes that evolved all night. This was so good that we finished the bottle in one evening instead of our usual two. Dark dark red in color. Fabulous nose. Long and satisfying aftertaste.

March 14, 2020 - Nose has loads of blueberry, and some leather. Smells ‘soft’ like a Merlot. And a little less structure than ideal, a bit flabby. But lots of fruit. Drinking well. Not a good value.

March 2, 2019 - Aerated with a Vinturi and decanted for 30 minutes. Aromas of blackberry, currant, mocha, forest floor and spice. Black and red fruit, mocha and underbrush with fine, ripe tannins on the palate. Very long finish with good texture. Full bodied. Served with strip steaks and blue cheese, black truffle butter.
