April 14, 2024 - Still going strong. Fruit holding in, tertiary flavors blooming, beautiful acidity and Bordeaux nuances. As always, a delight to drink. Enjoyed with family on Masters Sunday. Solid 92, sadly my last bottle. Drink or hold. Delicious.

January 28, 2024 - Brought to E&K's for football. This bottle was drinking great. Still lots of fruit but very nice balance and smooth texture. Should drink well for a couple more years easily, but no need to wait

December 9, 2023 - Fantastic! Decanted to remove sediment. Slow to open but after about an hour the aromatics exploded with black plum, cola, creamy cloves, and even some drying spices like cumin. Racy and complex. Under-ripe red plums, melted licorice and a notable green herbal streak on the palette with a medium-long finish. Seems to be at the apogee of its development but will hold here for another 2-3 years. Great effort by the Ridge team.

December 7, 2023 - This is barely passing out of it's primary phase yet. The oak is evident but there is a lot of rich fruit here yet. Long smoothness here. Light tannin lingering around to clean up the finish. Lots of berry character. Consistent overnight. This has a long way to go yet there isn't a lot of complexity. That could change if the oak integrates before the fruit completely passes out of it's primary phase. Somewhat majestic as is. What else would you expect from a Geyserville?

August 31, 2023 - Another great Ridge. There is a bit of v/a - brettanomyces on the nose but the palate is solid. 71% Zinfandel, 19% Carignane, 7% Petite Syrah, 2% Mataro & 1% Alicante Bouschet. This blend changes year to year but, the quantity is always solid. Once again, I’ve been at this a long time, but I have never opened a bad bottle of Ridge.

Ripe, juicy; blackberries, black raspberries, plum, dark cherries, boysenberries, raspberries over that hover over the top. Touch a black pepper, some black tar, dry crushed rocks, volcanic limestone minerals, dark, rich soils, pine tar, melted, dark chocolate, notes of herbaceousiness, moist clay, violets for days, caramel notes, vanillin, some lavender, amazing acidity with a well balanced, smooth structure/tension and a beautiful finish that lasts a full minute.

May 21, 2023 - Nice deep ruby color; nose was subdued red fruit; medium bodied with very mellow tannis; a distinct hit of candied rasberry and strawberry flavors. Stood up to BBQ chicken and tri tip. Drinking nicely though I’d drink it within the next couple of years.
