Next to the Lambray, this was much tighter and less giving especially on the palate, although the nose showed a nice hint of minerals. I was able to taste this over 3 days and it refused to budge.

March 22, 2017 - Liked the nail polish nose and purity, but profile felt quite extracted right now, especially next to Lambrays...

March 22, 2017 - Ex-chateau btl. Its so tight even with a 30-45 mins decanting. Nose has some stewed fruit, herbs, green pepper and oak. Stringent on the palate. Obviously needs a lot more time. Is it going to be a great tart? I doubt. But it will probably improve with aging. Based on this btl, i wont touch it in the next 4-5 yrs.

February 3, 2017 - Recess: Good at first, but this got substantially better with air. It's a touch awkward on the palate initially with the acid sticking out on the back end, but comes together and feels much more harmonious with some time in the glass, while opening out aromatically to show more floral and herbal scents around its core of red fruit.

August 5, 2016 - French and Italian wine gathering (The Grill Room at Rosewood DC): Fredrick actually bought this and the 96 Anne Gros Clos Vougeot, a great gesture. Surprisingly it is significantly lighter in color than the CV. Medium expressive nose, stewed tomato, Vosne spice and mineral. There is a hint of very ripe fruit. I wonder if the domaine picked very late like Ponsot. Typical for the 07, it lacks the concentration and slightly hollow. Already enjoyable.
