August 5, 2016 - French and Italian wine gathering (The Grill Room at Rosewood DC): Fredrick actually bought this and the 96 Anne Gros Clos Vougeot, a great gesture. Surprisingly it is significantly lighter in color than the CV. Medium expressive nose, stewed tomato, Vosne spice and mineral. There is a hint of very ripe fruit. I wonder if the domaine picked very late like Ponsot. Typical for the 07, it lacks the concentration and slightly hollow. Already enjoyable.

July 31, 2016 - Opened 5hrs before drinking but not decanted. Better on the nose than it was on the palate. A beautifully beguilling nose of red fruit but a little one dimensional on the palate. Pretty well integrated though, and not showing any prominent oak and tannins which Clos De Tart can sometimes be known for. Will probably still improve with more cellar time but open enough to consume now.

April 27, 2016 - Light garnet. Expressive nose of red fruit with strawberry, yeast and sweet spices in the foreground. Very elegant on the palate, I like the balance between fruit and dry extract. The aromas remain present in the mid palate, good complexity and long finish. Not a dense wine but the Grand Cru character is noticeable from the refined aromatics. An elegant and fine Burgundy from a not so good vintage.

April 17, 2016 - Massive bouquet - dark cherries, floral tones, some spice. Rich body rippled with muscle...powerful but lean. Beautiful ripe fruit, some spice notes on the palate, excellent grip and length.

October 16, 2015 - Drank with Burgundy group. No formal notes. This bottle was big, quite bold, but still managed nuance and delicacy - a contradiction. It took the better part of the night before it started to open and did not really get a good look at that. Save other bottles.
