December 26, 2018 - Still drinking a very well, but probably at the edge of its best drinking plateau. Opened 7 hours before drinking, decanted an hour before.

September 9, 2018 - Opened about 3hours before drinking and decanted an hour before. This wine continues to drink at or near its peak. Just an amazing wine.

January 21, 2017 - These continue to be very good. Had it the day after the 1998 and the 95 held it's own but just didn't have the wow factor.

April 11, 2015 - Beautiful, rich wine. Opened about 5 hours before, decanted about an hour before. Needed that time to open. Closed and a bit funky when first opened, but really opened up and came together with time. The wine still has plenty of time ahead of it based on this bottle.

July 15, 2013 - Chablis les Clos (18 bottles) at the Lieu-dit Cru Blind White Burgundy Dinner (L2O - Chicago IL): Maybe not the best place to end the evening drinking more subtle wines, this was dense, black, tannic and rather firm, but with lots of great fruit behind the wine's large-scaled structure.

June 4, 2011 - Iberian Dinner (w/ Clos Erasmus) @ Home (CT): There was some discussion as to whether this was actually corked or perhaps flawed in some other way. I vote TCA.

May 7, 2011 - Opened and recorked in the morning to have for dinner. Still needed some opening time. Big, dark, and brooding. Turned quite earthy with dark fruit like an old Italian. Very rich and complex with many layers. The earth and minerality came out as the night wore on. Very good but next time I think I will open the day before.

February 27, 2011 - Still unruly when opened but a couple hours of air did the trick this time. Welch's turned to earthy and acidic turned to really nice and fairly well balanced. Give these time in the decanter to open up!
