March 17, 2016 - Gotta say, I was a little disappointed with this. The nose had dusty blue and black fruits. Alcohol seemed to actually poke out a little bit which surprised me. Some nice fresh herbal notes. Palate was fairly simple, almost dilute. Seemed a little hollow. Pleasant but lacked any sort of complexity. Let's hope it's shut down a little.

April 26, 2015 - Loved this so much. Had to decant for about 2 hours but considerable change as it opens up. Starts off fine, a little tight but winds up being fantastic, great dark fruits, very decadent.

January 25, 2015 - This wine was a favorite (along with the Sangiacomo pinot) when I visited Sojourn's tasting room last spring. The nose spans the whole range of red/blue/purple fruit from strawberry to cherry to blueberry to blackberry. Also a bit of gravel dust. The palate's fruit matches the breadth of the aromas and adds cocoa and dried herbs. The mouthfeel is incredibly plush and smooth and the 14.6% is hardly noticed. Medium acidity/tannins/finish round out the structure. Drinking well now with just a little air, I look forward to trying my last bottle with a few years of age.

September 8, 2014 - Loads of fruit. Drinking very well, but I'll let my other bottle sit for awhile.

July 15, 2014 - Opened about an hour prior to serving. Pours a dark garnet with slight paling towards the rim.
The nose is delightful, with a touch of herbaceous greenness framing ripe cassis and black cherry along with notes of cocoa and a dusty minerality that I found quite compelling. This is a complete wine, from beginning to end, and one of the best Sojourn wines I've yet tasted. Will be better with several more years cellaring.
