June 19, 2020 - That's a little brett-y. And some sour cherry fruit. Maybe should have drunk it up sooner? Just opened, maybe it will freshen up.

April 3, 2015 - Funk, spice and rose scent. Sporty, medium body, tart cherry, raspberry and mineral flavor with ample fine tannins. After breathing, the funk dissipated. Even better when chilled.

January 24, 2015 - ...I was hoping for something more as I expand my Beaujolais experiences. It is good but not extremely special. ruby red with aromas and flavors of red fruit and strawberries. The finish was medium and a little acidic; very similar to less expensive Beaujolais.

November 9, 2014 - Not quite sure what to make of this bottle. After 8 hours of slow oxygenation, this was still generally muted, with a touch of smoke and soy, and most prominently the nose and palate were loaded with persistent stemmy, geranium notes. The peppery Gamay fruit is there, but only very faintly, with no brightness of fruit. Thin and short, with just a touch of heat. Re-tasted the next day, still some unappealing geranium notes on the nose but showing more pleasant complexity on the palate. Still quite hollow and a bit hot, not at all the cheerful experience I expect from a decent Beaujolais. Sometimes a more serious Gamay is fine, but this one is downright somber. 13% abv

August 22, 2014 - Startlingly deep hued and opaque, with an equally assertive initial nose. Popped and poured, the first glass was pretty impenetrable - dark fruit, some herbal notes. Opened up considerably over the next hour, gaining a livelier quality as well as complexity. Nice balance of acidity, fruit, and garrigue flavors, but not as precise as I'd like. "Muddled" is the right word. Much more approachable and friendly with some air.

August 4, 2014 - Characterful and savoury or mucky? It's a moot point. The good bits first - attractive deep velvet hue, with some raspberry and forest notes showing before a bit of barnyard. The taste is initially appealing, with intense raspberry / redcurrant fruit, crisp acidity and fine grained tannins keeping it light (and served somewhat cool), with a very savoury / herbal flavour. The aftertaste is however muddled, with the barnyard elements strengthening.

July 4, 2014 - Super-herbacious... Like drinking a savory herb garden. Mid-weight, not much structure but holding together fine, very refreshing with a bit of a chill
