April 4, 2024 - Colgin Dinner (RPM Seafood - Chicago IL): Alongside the 2012. Both 63% Cab Sauv, 20% Merlot, balance split between Cab Franc and Petit Verdot. Lots of black cherry, berry, plum with some dark chocolate, licorice, and cigar box. Wonderful brightness and elegance, especially on its longish finish. Upside from here. I preferred this 2010 over the more hedonistic 2012, but the group was divided. I think there is further upside from here.

February 17, 2024 - Magnificent. Ravishing waves of plum, red currant, dark chocolate, mocha and caramelly oak. Extremely dense and concentrated but comes off as highly elegant and drinkable. Begs another sip rather than beats the palate into submission. Wears the 14.9% alcohol and oak effortlessly. Still drinking youthfully with seemingly a very long future ahead. Didn't budge an inch on day 2. Good for you if you can manage to save some of this beyond day 2!

December 13, 2023 - Salon Ficofi Paris walkabout tasting and dinner, no detailed tasting notes. Very good showing here as well, excellent balance, not too sweet, composed, good complexity. 96+

July 18, 2023 - What a gem! Lots of dark red fruits, minerality, graphite, and incredibly soft tannins and gentle acidity make for a velvet coating on the tongue. Loads of complexity combine to give almost perfect balance. A good 30-45 second finish to boot. Exquisite match with filets.

December 7, 2022 - Salon Focofi Paris walkabout and dinner, so no detailed tasting notes. Happy to see that this wine shows as well as I remember it. Very aromatic, great mature earthy notes combined with dark fruit. To me, together with Monte Bello, Colgin makes the most attractive wines in the US.

October 9, 2022 - Deep crimson. Black fruit. Bold on the nose, more restrained on the palate. Starts thin almost but then in grows. Smooth finish. Super interesting wine. Lots of secondary aromas and great balance. Hard to find anything not to like.

December 27, 2021 - petit verdot and cab franc gave this bottles extra dimensions. I would not be surprised if this wine ends up drinking like cheval blanc or pichon baron one day. If planning to drink before 2030, then give it a prolonged few hours air time
