December 13, 2014 - What a songbird this bottle was! Two hours of aeration and twenty minutes in the glass, and seemingly all the possibilities of a fine Cos were revealed: black fruits, cedar, Indian spices, tobacco--and, yes, jalapeno. Medium but tasty finish. Glory, Glory, Glory!

December 6, 2014 - Too much green pepper for me. Tasted blind. Nailed the year and 2nd growth, but thought it was from Pauillac. This is not at peak yet.

November 20, 2014 - bad ass wine, really drinking well. Cool sweet fruit, perfectly integrated herbal spice with a hint of earth on the back end. Acidity well integrated and just seamless down the palate.

November 11, 2014 - At a dinner arranged by David S at the Lotus Club NYC, fantastic evening. First wine of the evening, from a magnum.

From a magnum, seems to be right in its drinking zone. Color is a dark garnet. Nose of black fruits, cedar, tobacco. Classic Bordeaux of black currants, oak, dark plums. Nice texture, thin on mid palate. Medium finish

November 3, 2014 - EVS -- Wild game and wilder wines dinner: Bit sour and lean now, this '95 is sweeter and fuller than '96, though both wines failed to impress. Lacking fruit and presence.

Rockss and Fruit

(Cos d'Estournel) Tight....tight . . . . tight. Great nose of chestnuts, mint, blackberries, black cherries, cassis, cedar and minerals. Just a deep, foresty St. Estephe nose. Concentrated and super-ripe with sweet fruit, pretty firm tannins, and a long very nicely delineated finish. Excellent quality but still an infant. Would nice to check in again in 7 years.
