December 3, 2016 - A long Sunday lunch at Noble Rot (Wellington, NZ): Darker colour. A fresh, primary nose of black cherry, dark soil, graphite, cedar and black plums. Fairly tight on palate. Sleek and taut. I wasn't surprised to hear it was a Cos but was by the vintage, thinking the wine was from the early 2000s. A classy wine, quite classical and a little austere at its core. I'd give the wine five or six more years in the cellar.

November 12, 2016 - Best Bottle Red in Lucerne without a theme (Hopfenkranz in Lucerne): From Magnum
Still Cassis notes in nose and palate with a refreshing acidity, good ripe tannin structure, in the beginning a bit reluctant but after a few hours showing a nice elegance of tobacco leaves and cedarwood, no hurry to drink but in a really nice stage

September 20, 2016 - Really nicely surprised by this wine and how well its going. Last tasting was in 2014 ( Papies 94) and this seemed to be even better. Still on the "young" side, lovely classic Bordeaux aromatics, light spice, light animal side, tobacco, earthy and pepper. On the palate it could use a bit more of a round feel but time will give it that. A beautiful wine with lots of life ahead. 94

September 18, 2016 - Great - but should have opened at least a couple of hours before. This was my last bottle of this vintage ... Unfortunately!

September 9, 2016 - GMs - 1995 Bordeaux Tasting: Very mint driven, red currant, blackberry and dark floral notes on the nose. Grips strongly on the palate, the structure is really impressive in that it still controls the wine with an iron fist. The fruit is strong enough that there is still balance, so good bottles of this wine will live a very long life ahead.

(Cos d'Estournel) Tight....tight . . . . tight. Great nose of chestnuts, mint, blackberries, black cherries, cassis, cedar and minerals. Just a deep, foresty St. Estephe nose. Concentrated and super-ripe with sweet fruit, pretty firm tannins, and a long very nicely delineated finish. Excellent quality but still an infant. Would nice to check in again in 7 years.
