January 16, 2016 - Still tannic but starting to come around. Plan to revisit end of 2016.

November 10, 2015 - Wife and I love Pichon Lalande and so took a shot at Lady May's South Africa venture. A good wine, probably consumed too young, doesn't make me yearn for more Stellenbosch. Ok, a confession, wanted to find Pichon from Africa, or a wine of that quality and year in year out excellence. This is another good Bordeaux blend, but I think Parker over rated it.

September 3, 2015 - Very Bordeaux like. Wish I had another to try in 5 years.

April 18, 2015 - Dark impenetrable red at the rim - initially quite a bit of tar on the nose, later more cassis and cedar. Fairly huge on the palate, dense and tannic, layers of fruit, fresh but needs quite a lot more cellar time. It will be fascinating to see how this ages, and it needs a lot more age yet...

October 5, 2014 - Decanted 1.5 hours. Very good but still too young. The inky Petite Verdot is apparent on the nose with wet gravel, dry blackberry and black currant skin extract, and some black licorice. Similar notes on the palate, black fruit, cedar sawdust, and iodine, leading to prominent over-steeped herbal tea tannins on the finish. Big and masculine, not overly extracted, good restraint, but needs a couple years to flesh out and gain complexity. Drink 2016-2025.
