July 23, 2014 - Solid wine but not as good as it used to be with Mitch Cosentino out of the picture. Not a good QPR. Can find much better blends at the same or lower price point. Drink now.

June 14, 2014 - Very light bodied as many Cosentinos are. Opened up nicely after an hour or so and the bright red fruit really came forward. Very enjoyable.

May 5, 2014 - The nice. Cave's note below is spot on - And I would drink sooner than later, as I think this is ready and won't get much better. 91

October 5, 2013 - Napa Valley Wine and Food Excursion; 9/30/2013-10/5/2013 (Napa Valley): Deftly crafted, this is a sleek Bordeaux-style blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot. Deep ruby in color, it is already showing a degree of aromatic complexity. Plum, sage, saddle leather, tobacco and coriander characterize the nose. Medium-to full-bodied on the palate, it delivers black fruit and mineral-dominated flavors in a round, moderately tannic frame. The alcohol (14.2%) lurks quietly and the middle palate is solid. Long and smooth on the finish, this is a wine with broad appeal. Drink now-2020.

September 3, 2013 - Wine tasting at the hotel in Napa. This was a Bordeaux style Meritage and was very tasty. Price online: 45.00. Their notes: Rich aromatics of dark fruit, clove, black pepper, and subtle oak. The palate showcases dense, complex, and spicy flavors that are trademark of our Poet red blend since the first vintage in 1986. Precisely balanced, with notes of currant and black cherry complemented by hints of cedar. Well structured with ripe polished tannins on the finish. - See more at: http://www.cosentinowinery.com/2009-the-poet#sthash.D1BLyWha.dpuf
