April 16, 2016 - Nose of blackberry compote and smoke.

Flavors follow the nose. There's a great depth to the wine, while remaining light. On pop and pour the puckering tannins overwhelmed, but with time in a decanter, the wine smoothed out and a nice earthy note appeared. Light+ on the palate, this wine is built for aging -- drink now (with copious air) -- but better in 5 years -- through 2030. Yummy.

March 27, 2016 - Purple garnet. Sweet black fruits on the nose-blackberry, black cherry. Long and lingering with the sweet fruit and vanilla. Mouthcoating. Probably will continue to improve for many years.

November 20, 2015 - Bright reddish violet, semi-translucent showing good extraction; lots of sweet berries, larger scaled, young and fresh, floral, plums, granite, deep, noble, some polish; good texture and length from the front of the palate to the long finish, sweet fruit, a touch of cedar, fleshy mouthfeel with a pleasant chew to the tannins not unlike good Merlot; very nice; like it at its current stage with decanting, not sure on its ability to age real long.

July 29, 2015 - An evening of wines from Trentino/Alto Adige (University Circle): This is one of my favorite producers in all of Italy. Elizebeth Foradori's wines are great at all price ranges. I still think of this as her top bottling. I had some misgivings about opening one so young, but it was allowed to breathe for a couple of hours before pouring and I thought it showed well. Purple/ruby in color. The nose is great with cherries, dark cherries, a perfumed floral quality and just a touch of vanilla. On the palate, complex and tightly layered. It unwinds in the glass. Silky but tight tannins. Great acidity. Long finish. Great with food now, this easily will last another decade and maybe two. Wonderful wine that deserved a bit more attention than the occasion allowed. But, that's what more in the cellar might be for. At around $52, there are not many better values in wines of this quality.

June 26, 2015 - Mye trevirke (uten for mye krydder). Bak hinter frukten om kirsebær og kanskje litt plomme - mørk og litt varm frukt. Rik og konsentrert, med god struktur. God syrlighet og fine tanniner i ettersmaken. Mye å like her, men bør nok lagres en god stund. Litt uforløst og eik ikke helt integrert akkurat nå.
