June 19, 2016 - Très très beau riesling. Hydrocarbures du riesling sont présent en souplesse, minéralité unique qui se marie bien avec la poire et un touche citronnée. Longue et tendre acidité qui promet pour boire ce millésime dans le futur.

May 29, 2016 - Dinner at Trelio (Clovis Ca.): Bested again by the 04 FE.....this shows the riper vintage here...not as chiseled with rocks as it should...but the fruit is pure, with subtle smoke and chalk, fresh lemon, grapefruit acidity...pretty coiled...will need some years. +pts

April 2, 2016 - On the nose not too much fruit at this stage, notes of herbal tea, crushed stones, hints of ripe stone fruit, red apples. On the palate very powerful and intense. Lots of minerality, great acidity and great fruit. Notes of lemon zest, grapefruit. Wonderful finish - very long and lingering. Needs time. 94-95+

October 5, 2015 - Terroir revolution at Trimbach - and the just released Clos Ste Hune 2008 (Maison Trimbach): The wine is made from vines located at the center of the Rosacker Grand Cru vineyard, which ranks among Alsace's best. Until now, Domaine Trimbach does not label its Clos Sainte Hune wine with the Alsace Grand Cru title to which it is entitled. Could that change? Whatever the case may be, this solar vintage is very well handled here. A lovely pine needle aspect, with fresh meadows, lends freshness. It is very sumptuous on the palate but I could not sense the ... 14% alcohol. Yes, a minty aspect and fellow taster Luiz Alberto remarked a sweet herb, like caraway seed (grains de carvi), but not as strong as aniseed. The four grams of residual sugar were balanced by 7.5 grams of acidity. Truly lovely stuff, especially considering that the wine had been opened two days before, Anne Trimbach said. Trois fois bravo!

June 29, 2015 - Tasted at the winery. Very mineral. Flavors are still melding. This wine is still too young to show well. The Cuvée Frédéric-Émile from the same year was showing just as well at a fraction of the cost. Not impressed with all the critics loving this wine at this pricepoint (€133), but maybe it just needs time.
