July 17, 2016 - CYAK's note was spot on. I was light on any Chianti's to enjoy with a wonderful Italian dinner prepared by my wife Paula so I reached for this bargain Brunello. Paired very well with steamed mussels in homemade Marinara and Caviltelli pasta with meatballs and sausage. And oh yeah garlic bread to soak it all up with Brunello to wash it down. Doesn't get any better than this!

    July 16, 2016 - Color - opaque purple >>> blue purple-blue with orange-brown rim.
Nose - oak, dried red fruit
Palate - moderate "biting" tannins with tannin> acid. Duration - moderately long.
The predominant flavor is a lighter oak with more dried than fresh red fruit (cherry, plum, prune). The wine does have a plumpness to it. It also has chocolate and perhaps some faint leather notes. It stood up well to a spicy meal (spiced lamb burgers with grilled eggplant in a harrissa glaze).

February 17, 2016 - Upon opening I could smell some of the fruit. Tasting revealed at first a lighter slightly flat taste.

However within 5 minutes and a bit of swirling the wine opened up and exposed its depth. I like that the alcohol is not over the top however it's still very much present.

I think this could use more time. Maybe mellow out the finish that's a bit hot right now.

Still a good bottle. Recommended for the price. <$39.

    December 4, 2015 - Pours a lighter red....in the glass medium red...swirl is a brickish red..
Medium body....nose is hard to define...earthy sauerkraut?....
    Flavor is dirty cherry.....spice.....leather....
    Very interesting wine...better with food...
