August 19, 2014 - I really enjoyed this wine, it had the rich cherry flavor with a touch of cinnamon that I adore in Brunellos ... To be savored, enjoyed...not rushed...it's lovemaking for the palette...So sit back, relax, take your time to savor...Enjoy (:
May 21, 2014 - Ripe, perhaps flabby red fruit is framed by a perfumed bouquet and new wood aromas. The nose is quite expressive and rich. The body is lacking tannins and vibrancy -- perhaps the sweet, almost overripe fruit here is washed out by the wood. The balance and tension got progressively better with airation. At the moment, the normale is more intricate and playful than the riserva. Should benefit from additional cellaring.

April 12, 2014 - Tuscany Wine Club (Our apt): This wine was the funkiest of the group to my tastes. Lots of bandaids and mushrooms and soy sauce and whatever else. There's an underlying structure though that keeps it feeling a bit clean and crisp like. I expected this one to polarize some of the people who seemed to be more interested in the fruit, but surprisingly it had more of a cross-appeal. I thought it was one of the more interesting wines and the kindof wine that is neat to drink even without food around.

February 15, 2014 - Drank over two days. Not decated, but passed through a Viturri. Dried fruit, mushroom, earth and slight sting of alcohol on the nose. Medium bodied. Dried cherry, cedar on the palate. Well balanced, but can't imagine why this is a "riserva." Needed about an hour to open up. Drink now-2017.

December 7, 2013 - PnP and then placed in a decanter at a dinner party with friends. Had with roast pork. Wine took a little time to open up, but when it did got a strong dark cherry flavor profile. After attack, a cinnamon spiciness kicked in. Wine had a strong mouth feel. You could almost feel it expand and fill your mouth with flavor in every sip. Well balanced, well made wine. Though I only paid an entry level BdM tariff for this, it had a "Big Boy Brunello" taste to it, far out-drinking its $24 price tag that I paid for this...Only knock in my opinion was a somewhat short finish.
Great QPR and a very good wine in general. Will buy again, if I can find at or around this price. Dinner guests also enjoyed bottle. I may be selling short at only 90 points had I given it time to decant up front.
