October 25, 2015 - Weighty Pinot, touch hot at 14.5%. Pure, rich & dark fruit, with a nice mineraly spence of place. Good acidity giving a very sexy Pinot. Not for the Burgundy purest.

July 6, 2015 - My style of Pinot ,medium Ruby colour, nose of red and black cherry fruits hints of smoke and tobacco with some sappy, savoury, spicy notes and nice texture and but lovely purity of fruit. Firm tannins and acidity so may age really well.

April 5, 2015 - Pinot noir extravaganza (Stockholm, Sweden): Light red.
Nose: Supermarket soap and a stale red wine that you can be served as a glass wine in a pub in the forgotten village of Loch Olcrombie.
Palate: First taste
Stalks and tannins and no balance *sigh* put it aside.
Palate: Second taste
Ah? But? This is becoming a fine wine. The raw wood is worth mentioning. There is superb concentration, but the balance never quite arrives at some kind of conclusion.
(Wish I had written more as I can't remember this wine today.)

February 20, 2015 - Translucent but deep red brown colour. About mid way through its life. Smoky earth pungent citrus tobacco cinnamon spice nose. Cherries blueberries gravel tobacco. An ash like mouthfeel, velvety and lively but with brooding power. Complex and changing. Caramel and creamy at end.1 person found this helpful Comment

August 21, 2014 - NZ's Finest Pinot Noir Collection (Fine Wine Delivery, Mt Wellington, Auckland): medium/dark ruby. a little closed nose. higher acidity and more concentrated than Tom's Block. velvety tannins, good weight. long finish. some flavours from wild/natural yeasts taste like Jura, interesting. still young, like to see how it develops 5 years later.
Alc 14.5%, TA 5.7gL, Dry. BC 88, RC 19, ST 87, HH 89, JR 16.5, MC 5 stars. Jamie Goode 94
Ap: 4/5; Ar: 11/15; palate: 17/20; overall: 5+4/10
