December 29, 2019 - Pale yellow with not very vigorous bubbles. Yeasty with a touch of citrus, it seems a bit past its prime. Drink up!

July 23, 2019 - No shy and retiring bubbly here. Bold and yeasty in the glass. Not perfect, but not bad.

July 6, 2019 - It should warrant a higher score due to its excellent QPR. Served at 45 degrees F. Fragrant nose of white fruits/flowers. Beautiful palate of crisp creamy lemon/pear accented w/toast and subtle almond notes. For a 10 yr. old bottle this showed none of the occasionally found oxidized apple pie tastes found in many older NV French champagnes; which isn't objectionable if it's otherwise balanced and not too heavy. Tiny persistent bubbles that Taittinger is known for.

January 1, 2019 - shared with pat at selkirk manor to celebrate New Year's Day. this is an amazing product which performs well above its price point. paired with lobster tail in pesto sauce and caviar/cream cheese resting on endive. also had shredded cabbage and avocado salad. we have enjoyed domaine carneros from several vintages over the past few years. have also tasted domaine carneros side by side with taittinger at boca bacchanal dinner. it always shows well. the last time we had the 2009 domaine was 10/21/2016. at that time the wine was enjoyable but there were some concerns about longevity. these prove to have been unfounded as today, the wine continues to be sound with little change since last time. previous notes are still relevant. the wine is made in a consistent style which is a testament to the skill of the blender. i tend to favor sparklers that offer generous yeast and toast-which this one does. i also appreciate the persistent tiny bubbles. the wine still shows nice stone fruit overlay and rich body. this product offers great qpr. although fully mature, the wine continues to show firm structure such that well stored bottles should continue to be enjoyable for another year. my stock is now depleted. need to replenish with current vintages.
