April 11, 2014 - Totally bummed that this was the last bottle we have in our cellar. This is such a yummy wine. It was great sipping by itself, but was off the hook with the Rudy's brisket that we had shipped in from Texas. AWESOME! I have found that pinots sourced from Freestone just have this wonderful and consistent marriage of big, explosive fruitiness with nice, bracing acidity (the acidity makes them great for pairing with a wide range of foods). Well done, Lynmar! BTW this wine is completely at its peak, and I would drink now, because no telling when it might start to flatten out.

January 26, 2014 - Truly yummy. Big red fruit with nice underlying acidity. A bit of the forest floor, after aeration, but not like a classic burgundy. Just some really good drinking, by itself and with some hot tortilla soup. Nice on a cold Sunday night. I reiterate: it is at the peak, and given the fruit forward taste, we will drink our last two bottles in the next 6-12 months.

December 28, 2013 - Popped and poured. Consistent with previous bottle. Compared to the Patricia Green pinot, this was a voluptuous effort but not over the top. Nose of raspberry, chocolate covered cherries, baking spices, a bit of red licorice and vanilla. Really pretty to smell. Similar flavors on the palate with a slightly candied red fruit profile and a touch of toasty oak. Raspberries definitely come through loud and clear. Good acidity and a silky smooth mouthfeel and long finish. Most agreed this was their WOTN.

December 22, 2013 - better than bottle of 3/1/2013, seemed better integrated. Cherry and red raspberry playing with clove and cinnamon. Touch of cola on the finish.
