Community Tasting Notes 33
January 24, 2015 - Tasted at about 60°F. Color is vivid maroon. Aroma is sharp with oak, and some fruit hiding underneath. Flavor is also sharp, and lighter than I expected from the aroma. The fruit comes out a little more, but is less than I would expect from grenache. Good flavor anyway; I just wouldn't have pegged this as Spanish garnacha.
December 21, 2014 - Very good garnacha

September 4, 2014 - I'm a little confused on exactly what I think about this wine. I definitely agree with Motz, who himself tried it a couple of times, that our fellow reviewers are not giving this wine a fighting chance. Yes, it is a little on the simple side, and may even have a touch of residual sugar. I am going to make a couple of guesses that of course are just an opinion. They are probably using these pedigreed grapes to make a wine styled for the international palate = soft, smooth and fruity at the expense of some of the nuanced flavors that are more for the experienced palate. Also, I get the sense some of the good stuff has been filtered out, for what could be many wine making reasons. This probably is not their best offering/vintage. It is tasty in a simple strawberry flavor sort of way. I don't hate it, and will try another couple of bottles.
