Community Tasting Notes 3

May 8, 2014 - Tasted at winery after formal tasting. The only thing port-like with this wine was the name port on the label. Chocolate mocha notes with a hint of brown sugar on the finish.

May 8, 2014 - Tasting at Shafer (Shafer Vineyards): Notes of chocolate, plum, cassis and blueberry. Full-bodied and chalky tannins and flavors of cassis, brown sugar and chocolate. Lingering finish.

October 29, 2013 - An end of tasting "treat" subsequent to the Shafer Winery tasting. Served with dark chocolate. I'm not a big fan of sweet wines, but with the chocolate, this was great. It's worth trying with the chocolate if offered!
