January 23, 2015 - Translucent ruby color. Bright red cherry with licorice, tea and mint. Beautifully balanced and elegant with huge, but fine tannins. Another great '10 Barolo and really impressive at this price. From 375ml.

January 20, 2015 - Purchased from a restaurant by the glass to get a data point on 2010 Barolo. This is good wine that punches above its pricepoint. Although the wine is pleasurable now, make no mistake this is young Barolo with serious tannins and acids. But underneath the tannins you find lovely floral notes and dark brooding fruit. Hold.

January 13, 2015 - One of.my greatest fears is young barolo. The puckering causes life altering muscular damage and wrinkles. I would never open a 4 year old barolo. But I was depressed on a Tuesday and so this happened. I can't believe how approachable this was. Almost pinot.noir like. It has the tar and roses and medium body but the tannins are not soul destroying like I would have expected. Obviously a couple years is what the doctor orders but I enjoyed this immensely. Good value too.

December 31, 2014 - The bouquet jumps out and grabs you with rose petal, muddled red berry puree (raspberry in particular), cherry (in various states of preparedness including candied), nutmeg, cinnamon, potpourri, and strong mineral notes. The bracing palate commands attention from the juicy attack through a long and gripping finish. High acid, medium plus tannin, luscious. The wine is approachable now, and will add weight and depth with cellaring. If drinking now, decant for 4 or more hours. The wine should drink well through 2025 and beyond. Among the best values for stalwart Barolo on the market. 92-94.

December 27, 2014 - This wine will certainly improve in the next 3-5 years. Very similar to a Pinot Noir Premier Cru. Not extremely complex, but in a very serious style. Good balance, nice acidity and medium lenght. A bit too expensive.
