October 17, 2015 - This is now showing some maturing fruit, with red currant aromatics to complement its peach notes. The palate is also beginning to shade into a more savory profile. Sadly, it's my last bottle, but this continues to improve, and hopefully bodes well for the subsequent vintages I'm still holding.
June 10, 2012 - Medium golden color. Initially this had a funky note on the nose that blew off with about a half hour of air. Petrol, peaches, apple, with some oxidative notes. Moderately sweet, with okay acidity.
August 23, 2011 - Fantastic bottle. All white peaches and cherries. This continues to impress and improve, the flavors become more and more delineated on the palate and finish.
December 5, 2010 - This is beginning to open up nicely with white peach and herbs on the nose. The palate leans towards the lighter end of the spectrum, less weighty than many a Kabinett from bigger vintages. The sweetness is moderate and is complemented by a racy streak of acidity that recalls just underripe raspberries. Impressively taught on the back end, this is a lovely Spätlese that is entering its adolescence now.
July 11, 2008 - This is still in its in-between stage. Clearly plenty of material on the palate and a firm acidity gives it great structure and staying power, but it is simply not showing much interest in the aromas and flavors at this point. Some peach and lime, but this needs some more rest to allow it to begin to develop some more mature notes and to bring all its parts into harmony.
November 18, 2006 - White flowers and minerals on the nose with just a hint of honey that makes me wonder if this didn't see a tiny bit of botrytis inclusion. The palate is well integrated and shows true Spätlese levels of extract, only moderate sweetness, and flavors of lime and a little mineral firmness. The finish is medium length, but not wondrously complex. Nice wine but not thrilling like they're more recent vintages. Let's see what happens with some time.
