May 19, 2016 - Maturing nicely. The red fruit has morphed into dark fruit, blackberry/black cherry in particular, also a hint of cocoa. Still black pepper and sime briar. Integrating medium tanninc/acid. Open one now, likely close to peaking but still has several years left.

May 10, 2016 - Short decant. My last bottle. Two and a half years ago I scored this 92 pts. About seven months ago I noted this is a 95 pointer with QPR factored in. Today it's just a really good Zin. Well balanced, full of dark fruits, a lovely Zin spice profile, and super smooth tannins. Lovely. Drinking really well now; no need to hold these much longer. The current community score of 90.7 seems a bit low.

    April 20, 2016 - Delicious

April 13, 2016 - Two and a half years since my first bottle and this is still showing extremely youthful, primary and tannic. Dark fruits, pepper and licorice. Went well with steak, which ameliorated the structure a bit. Seems very well poised for aging, as the fruit is there to balance the tannins. If the "Old Vines" bottling is this structured, when should the single vineyard designates wines be drunk? These are serious efforts indeed.

March 1, 2016 - Loved this wine. Decanted for about an hour and this helped soften the tannins considerably. Dark fruit and spice abound. I still think this is one of the best wine deals around. Bedrock rocks!
