February 15, 2024 - This was in an excellent place. No idea why others have said it's past prime. Plenty of deep dark fruit alongside lots of savoury secondary character. I guess if a non-fruit-bomb Zin is anathema then at 11+ years old this may not be your jam, but it's a great wine in a great place for me.
October 31, 2022 - Some green veggies/peppers to go with classical dark Zin fruit. Nothing really special about this wine but smooth an enjoyable.
April 8, 2021 - Dark red color with no bricking or other signs of age. The nose is Rhône or even cab like with a bit of VA lift to the scent. Red fruit taste is bright and juicy, but a bit hazy on the palate. Good acidity keeps this fresh. Finishes with a bit of old barrel taste and grippy tannins that are slightly drying on the medium length finish. On the second night I’m getting more sour cherry, Ludens cherry cough drop flavors and a bit of warmth on the finish. Drink up.
December 20, 2020 - Pop n pour, this wine tastes like it was bottled last month not last decade. Sappy red fruit a little bramble and spice but mainly sweet red fruit. Maybe this is what it is or maybe the fruit will settle down but don’t hold your breath. No rush to open if you have some in the cellar.
July 29, 2020 - Yes, indeed still drinking well & benefited from additional cellar time. Agree with notes by Hamersly & Bound4er.
December 16, 2019 - Bound4er's note below nails it:
"Really punches above its weight class. Structured dark fruit, fully resolved tannins, acidity present but not overwhelming." I'll only add that the 2020 drink-by date seems conservative, this shows no signs of teetering on the brink and could probably go another couple of years.
October 13, 2019 - Pop and pour. This wine continues to be slightly jammy, a little sweet, but this was more balanced than the previous ones.
August 24, 2019 - Bumping up another point from last month... hitting on all cylinders. Too bad this is my last bottle.
July 17, 2019 - Really punches above its weight class. Structured dark fruit, fully resolved tannins, acidity present but not overwhelming. Drinks well with hearty food such as burgers on the grill.
March 26, 2019 - Unchanged from my 2016 note - mostly dark fruit, a touch sweet. Fully mature with fully integrated structural notes; drink now.
