January 10, 2015 - New Arrival Burgundy (Mostly 2012's) (Beltramo's, Menlo Park): Second time tasted this weekend and essentially the same very positive impression. Berryish, fragrant red fruit. Light, supple, more back end earth than I got yesterday. Delicious, classy, no wood imprint, tart closing tannins that do not greatly diminish the ability to enjoy this now. Again, it is quite atypical for Nuits St. Georges.

January 9, 2015 - Four 2012 Mugniers (Dig Wines, San Francisco): Clear medium red. Red fruit aromatics. Medium bodied, supple, excellent blossoming of black cherry fruit and a smidgeon of anise. Very smooth, approachable, and unobtrusive tannins. Surprisingly enjoyable now, but I never would have called this as a Nuits given its elegance and texture. I suppose that happens when a Chambolle winemaker makes wine from this terroir.

May 16, 2014 - Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier Visit and Tasting (Mostly) 2013 and 2012 (Chambolle-Musigny): Tasted at the domaine. This is racked and ready for bottling. All black fruit, very meaty and firm. More classically NSG styled vs what I normally expect from Mugnier's Marechale or Primeaux in general, this will be well served by plenty of rest in the cellar. Very low yields largely due to hail, I believe 2/3 of the crop was lost.
