August 29, 2017 - I always really enjoy this wine - which is actually good value at current Burgundy prices and no idea why it doesn't get better CT scores. Although the Clos is north of NSG it tastes like it is from the south - much more meaty, leather and savoury than usualy simple crunchy blackberry from north NSG. Not deep, but rich in the mouth with breadth and persistance. This isn't Chambolle in character but is it an extemely enjoyable and well made Nuit in a savoury style but with real ripesness and balance. Drinks wonderfully now but will cruise for 10yrs. Recommended. For me the best value Clos is currently the 2008, followed by this and the 2014 (which I just back-filled again on...). Solid 92pts.

July 7, 2017 - Not overly deep; an expressive nose with plenty of air; initially rather sullen this opens into a soft, earthy wine. A good inner core, refreshing acidity give this a few years.

February 8, 2017 - Wasserman Burgundy Dinner (Smyth - Chicago IL): In 12/13/14 vertical. From magnum. All red fruit throughout with very good concentration, with a long and elegant finish. Slightly more firm and less forward vs when last tasted a few months ago. I think this the best of the vertical for the medium-term. 89 points for today, 90 for a few years in the future.

December 17, 2016 - Another Saturday at Chevalier...Mostly Blind (Chevalier Fine Wines - Chicago IL): Tasted double blind alongside Faiveley 1990 Clos de la Maréchale. Fat red fruit start-to-finish with elegant textures. Moderate length and concentration. very good now with future upside.

September 24, 2016 - Nuits St. Georges Tasting (Knightsbridge - Northbrook IL): Tasting, brief note. Good cross-section of cherry aromas and flavors with dried herbs throughout. This seems more concentrated than I recall from multiple previous tastings, so like its trajectory. Cellar for several more years. Drink the 2013 earlier.
