June 30, 2023 - Hmmm - this one was for sure over the top. Lost fruit and fresness. Pruny and not much life left.

February 25, 2023 - first bottle in 15 years, this wine was really nice, no issues with green, although it was very forest and leaves. it has matured, and was nice with roast chicken, you tasted freddy in the lightness with intensity… however i am not sure i see value. no hurry to drink my bottles.

January 22, 2023 - Clos de la Marechale Vertical (Decatur, GA): Duller red with rusty rim; beef broth nose with powerful green and iron notes, lots of clay, sanguine, dried roses, getting greener with air initially but something suggests this may improve with extended aeration.

January 22, 2023 - Not sure about the tasting notes before this. When I bought these, they were the greenest 2004 red burgs I had ever tasted. I saved 1 bottle for a Marechale vertical, which took place yesterday, all vintages from 2004-2019 and a '76 and '85 from Faiveley along with '10 and '15 whites. While the greenness did decrease significantly with time, it was still present and was actually not the worst aspect. This wine was thin, a bit acidic, disjointed and not pleasant fruit. Overall, among the worst 2 of the vertical. Sorry, Freddy.

March 13, 2022 - Started off a little primary but open, Has nice Marion berry and herbal components. Secondary leather and basque herbs quickly start showing. After 2 hours some strong tannins start showing making me think this wine will hold longer even thought it is showing well now.
