April 6, 2018 - Drinks well now. Great QPR for a $15 priorat wine.

August 22, 2017 - This has improved dramatically from several years ago. Loads of red berries on the nose, but a lot more minerality, a balanced acidity, light-to-medium body, and some smokiness on the finish. Either this is starting to come around, or the previous bottle was off.

April 19, 2015 - i remember tasting this at Local store tasting, and thinking it needed time, and this was at least a year ago, and I can see this was accurate. Deep maroon color, very pretty actually.

April 13, 2015 - med bodied, fruit forward. Notes of blueberries and some slight cassis. Mild, smooth tannins. Very good with food.

May 17, 2014 - Clear, ruby red in cold with bright reflections, moderate plus viscosity and medium minus concentration.
After an hour+ air time aromas are mineral driven followed by game meats, camp smoke, garrigue, cherry pits and pulp, dried goji berry, dried flowers and earth.
The medium bodied palate carries notes of white pepper, cherry, brambly raspberry, rock and mineral, garrigue, dried flowers and black tea notes. Acidity is moderate, and tannins are medium-minus. The finish is medium minus in length and intensity.

Overall an easy drinking priorat that shows terrior nicely. mineral, spice, each and fruit.

April 16, 2014 - I'm hoping this was an off bottle. Nose was pure grenache. On the palate, lots of raspberry but also cough syrup. Too bitter, too thin, too hot -- not balanced at all. Drinkable but not pleasurable. Will hold other bottles for a few more years.

December 16, 2013 - This wine, a blend of 70% garnacha and 30% carinena, was very dark, bordering on opaque, ruby red. The nose was somewhat muted but with air and 45+ minutes, revealed blueberry, blackberry, plum and minerality. The mouth feel brought more muted notes of minerality, bitter cherry and a distinct sour taste. The tannins were surprisingly soft and the sour taste remained.

I believe there is more to this wine than how it showed tonight. I'd recommend letting this wine sit for another year or so, allowing all the elements to fully integrate and become more defined and pronounced.

As of today, at $15US, it wasn't very enjoyable. If tasted blind, it doesn't say Priorat to me, lacking the defined slate notes that make Priorat wines so identifiable with a sense of place.
