Community Tasting Notes 11
July 7, 2014 - First try was OK, thereafter definitely not on the buy list - lacks complexity and any lasting finish

March 15, 2014 - Very nice. 17$ in Ontario but still good quality for the price. Solid, if not slightly in the background, tannins and Carmelized berry finish. I'm a fan! Going to buy a few more.

December 14, 2013 - Nose of red berries, plum, rose petals and a touch of alcohol.
The palate follows the nose and there's no mistaking where this wine is from. A bit clunky on the tongue, but shows a moderate amount of depth and acid. Tannins are fine and a bit gritty, but stay mostly in the background. Medium- finish. Day two, offered significantly less pleasure with the tannins seemingly more prominent and the addition of a slight metallic note.
A good pizza wine that offers a decent QPR.

December 1, 2013 - Stumbled onto the '09 for $8 at Costco…tastes smoother than the '08. You get the dry/fruity balance and great drinkability w/the desired Italian aroma.
You can get some nebbiolo and barbera out of this and this beats many $15 rossos I've had. The scoring is irrelevant; I doubt you can find a better Italian rosso with nuance for $8.

November 22, 2013 - Awesome wine for the price... Has nice basic flavor profile of Piedmontese reds without the pretension or the matching price. This won't be mistaken for a Barolo or Barbaresco, but it's a great inexpensive bottle to have during the week with a meal.
