December 15, 2022 - Tasted blimd. This is as good as it gets. Rose petals and cherry nose. Light on its feet with super fine tannins. Sweet core of fruit, elegant and with a lovely acidity. Surprisingly young tasting and delicious.

    October 23, 2022 - Perfectly mature.

Opened 5 hours before. A quick decant, and the back in the bottle to slow ox until serving.

The nose was quite well developed, but still fresh. Dried flowers, earthy, Mushroom, dark cherries, leather and dusty red fruit.

On the palate it had velvety soft tannins that just coats the entire mouth. Sour cherries, tobacco, wood and earthy tones in complete harmony. Long lingering finish.
This is at peak, or maybe even a year or two over. Enjoy now!

March 12, 2022 - Tasted blind next to the 2001. Wonderful nose of cherries, crushed rose petals. Great acidity, super fine tannins, great length. Notes of dried herbs, pork rinds. Very good and still has years ahead.

December 23, 2021 - open in bottle for 5h, after that decanted for 1 more hour.

expressive and deeply layered nose with predominately herbs and darkish-red fruits. cinnamon and leather. rustical.
compared to the Cicala 10 we had side-by-side this 97 Gran Bussia seemed much less extracted and already smoothened out.
    tannins grippy.

could keep it for another decade at least, imo not at the peak yet.

December 23, 2021 - - Was opened for 5 hours in the bottle, without decanting.
    - Nose: Wow, the Granbussia is full on with earthy notes, mushrooms, plus red fruits of figs, plums and more herbaceous notes, white pepper and caramel. An incredible freshness, depth and variety, you could spend hours with it!
    - Palate: What comes to mind here? Is just totally mega awesome, wonderful drinkability (acidity medium +) and freshness with earthy and slightly mushroomy character. Medium + tannins that are velvety and beautifully integrated. Rich in finesse and beautifully long on the finish - lasts forever. Wow wow wow!
    - Can be drunk very well now, but still has a good 10 years + potential in my opinion. 96-97 (!) points. One of the best/complete Baroli I have drunk so far.

May 28, 2021 - This is how a big Cru Barolo should be with "a few years" of aging.
    In a perfect window now.
Ultra complex nose, licorice, weed, herbs, dust, earth, salmiak, smoke, roses, tar, spice box, cedar wood, cigar box, tobacco, orange peel, leather, furniture polish, mushrooms, wet forest floor, red cherries and truffles.
Taste of roses, tar, sweet licorice, cherries, truffles and crazy delicious sunripe and sweet raspberries.
Round, velvety and floral, perfectly balanced with no rough edges and incredible length & depth.
This is truly an extraordinary Barolo made the old school way.
Not all the way up to the 2001 that happens to be one of the absolutely best Barolos ever made, but not far behind.
Perfect tonight - will keep for many years and continue to develop and deliver even more pleasure.

January 7, 2021 - Youthful and acidic out of the bottle, took 30 minutes before it really opened up, after which it was juicy and delicious. I’d recommend a 1-2 hour decant at least when opening today, but this has a long life ahead of it.

November 14, 2020 - Casual BBQ Wines: Decanted for about 8 hours. Licorice, blackberry, blueberry and ash. Good acid freshness and lift. Really well balanced - flows sleekly and has excellent length.

February 15, 2019 - Barolo Ginestra: One of the disappointments of the tasting. Bouquet was quite lactic and it missed vibrancy. On the palate it was rather one dimensional with quite developed tannins.
    Probably a not perfect bottle.

February 10, 2019 - OMG is this good. This is in a perfect place right now with sweet tobacco and dark plum and cedar notes on the nose and palate. Cleverly put together, the texture is so smooth it glides in your mouth. Long finish. Great wine.
