November 13, 2016 - Aging gracefully this slight flacid, slightly hot Viognier is typical of the Simpson Vineyard, good fruit and flavor but just borderline out of balance. Too bad the vineyard is gone, the Syrah from there was also good.
June 7, 2016 - Contribution to tasting group for Viognier - nose of banana, beeswax, white flowers, pineapple. Palate was waxy with flavors of white flowers and ginger. Seemed a bit hot - full body with med-minus acid and long finish. I expected more life ala Darioush's example. The wine displayed telltale markers, but I was personally disappointed with the end impression from such a noted producer.
November 11, 2014 - Tuesday Night Double Blind <$30 (Bin 75): Bright yellow with slight green hue; spice, vanilla, banana, floral; classic Viognier, aromatic, rich yellow fruit, viscous, decent acid; good example.
September 30, 2014 - light gold, lots of clarity, silvery hue
Nose: honey, pear, grass, hint citrus, lemon rind, white pepper, chalk, touch musky
Pal: honey, pear, grass, lime, lime rind, white pepper, sea salt, touch chalk, touch musk, touch oak (though this wine is not oaked)
Feel: medium, effervescent
Finish: medium

September 10, 2014 - A favorite from Miner...has the full body of Chardonnay but is much more food friendly. Nice honeysuckle notes. Tastes wonderful with any seafood swish, but equally fine with Chicken Piccata.
September 1, 2014 - Good acidity, not too sweet, easy drinking.
July 13, 2014 - peaches and banana aromas. from Madera, CA outside of Fresno. No oak, no malo. 4000cs.
December 30, 2013 - Tasted at Miner Family Winery today, nose of pear with a touch of minerals, more of the same on the palate, lovely pear taste, touch simple but better than the Marsanne, served chilled and made a big taste difference to Kathy and myself, medium/light body, and medium finish.
