January 22, 2023 - Clos de la Marechale Vertical (Decatur, GA): Good color, crimson with rusty rim; dark and red cherry on the nose, truffle, earth, still so balanced, juicy, driven with dry extract, sappy; timeless and tasty.

March 14, 2020 - Bottle had some seepage, initially funky nose of earth, mushrooms and some mild red cherry and strawberry with the fruity aromas accentuating with time, on the palate still a lot of fruit left, red fruited mainly with some nice herbal/tobacco notes reminiscent of Bordeaux, nice acidity no tannins, this is drinking incredibly nice, guess I lucked out with regards to the seepage. This bottle was excellent and is extremely enjoyable. Monopole.

March 6, 2019 - The best NSG Clos de la Marchale among 79,85,88 and 93 tonight. The faiveley oak was well integrated. Very nice structure with cedar, dark currant, iron and earth with bright acidity. Classic burgundy. Drinking at a sweet spot. 92+

May 1, 2016 - From a cellar in Burgundy. Opened 2 hours prior to slow ox.

This is an excellent example of the charmes of old school Faiveley. Nicely aged but more of a middle aged/young adult than anything approaching aged.

Wonderful nose of cherry, earth, black olive, and some bacon fat. Nicely resolved but still with some firm but not harsh tannins and structure. Just entering its drinking window. Impressive.

November 5, 2015 - Sadly over the hill...but some might still like it. Taste first.
