July 22, 2017 - Outstanding value - got it on offer for £15 - although probably would still be even at c. full price (£20-something?).

Nose dominated by autolytic flavours - bread, dough, toast, and a touch of green apple. The palate broadens to encompass lemon, butter and mushrooms.

Considering how hard and expensive it is to produce Champagne, hats off to this bottling.

May 5, 2017 - tasted at large walkaround tasting. somewhat simple, this does not have the character i look for in champagne. fruit forward with green apple and white grapefruit.

April 30, 2017 - Purchased Apr-2015, this one has developed, but the mushroom-y nuances have got a controversial impact on the fresh and easy going bubble that I remember from before, the point is: drink as young as possible, sadly no disgorgement dates on the label.

April 16, 2017 - This came up at Total Wines for an attractive price. For me it was unattractive, nothing wrong with the bottle. For a Brut it is sweet, something no appealing for me. Fine small bubbles, citrus nose, limited flavor interest - no creaminess or bread/biscuit that I love (Bollinger Special is my go to, on the chard side Lancelot Royer Cv de Chevaliers). The finish is sweet, average, not noteworthy. I bought this on notes, don't know what I got versus everyone else but it doesn't sound the same and this well stored, undamaged wine. The domestic Ferrer vintage is far better.

April 1, 2017 - Rich and toasty; baked orchard fruit. Nice.

(NV Heidsieck & Co Monopole Blue Top Brut Champagne) Brings some nice aromatic complexity with pear, a light nuttiness, and abundant spice. The palate is light, creamy and tart with a lingering, spice filled finish.

(NV Heidsieck & Co. Monopole Blue Top Brut Champagne) Purchased Summer 2000. An attractive light onion-skin colour. Fairly coarse bead. The nose carries a light yeastiness together with some citrus fruit. A middle of the road palate, with more subtle biscuity yeasty notes sitting with sharp citrus fruit acidity. Mousse is a little aggressive. Pleasant drinking.
