    August 5, 2022 - Quick decant.
Dark cherry, earth, plum, savoury spice. Medium bodied and well balanced. Fine, silty tannins. Delight to drink.

May 2, 2021 - Cork, 13.5% alc. Dark and dull cola colour with some red bricking.

Opens very stemmy, yet also with a beautiful sweet berried aroma, menthol, cola, lipstick, rhubarb, and smoke.

With significant air time, the overt stalkiness dissipates and the palate becomes sweet fruited. Amazing transformation! Loose knit tannins continue to provide grip, yet it’s a wine mostly driven by acid. Finishes with a real surge and flourish.

Opinion: Solid pinot. Give this a good decant to blow off the overt stemmy aroma. Can probably handle more age, however it drinks well now.

February 16, 2021 - Phil's Coravin exploration (Phil's place, Putney, Sydney): From Coravin. Ashy, stalky, dill, sweet spice, herbaceous. Grippy drying tannins, sweet and sour stalks. Ugh.

September 14, 2020 - Great wine, drinking at its peak now. Doubt that it has much longer to go. Need to be careful about food selection because the wine easily gets lost. Fabulous length subtle fruit

December 23, 2019 - Last note still pretty spot on, think this still has a good life to go. Very smooth and supple, fully integrated. A plush palate no doubt but balanced, earthy, undergrowth, quite autumnal, lovely length. Very good.

July 4, 2019 - Excellent pinot here from By Farr. Savoury and sappy, nice density with a little weight, black cherries, smoky oak with a splash of spices. It has a bit going on but immaculate in its presentation, easy to be drawn to this. Has enough stuffing and structure to improve for a number of years.

May 12, 2019 - Cherry, stems, spice, pine. There's a lift to the medium, dense palate. Savoury tannins line the tongue. it's quite compelling. The purity of the fruit gives a nod to the origin, but it's very Burgundian.

April 7, 2018 - Very good, but you need to give it a bit of air. Almost burgundy, delicious. 93
