July 11, 2015 - Good wine that is both robust yet retains a freshness. There are big dark berry fruits, particularly blackberry and blueberry, which edge to cooked, but never as far as confected. Purity of fruit with a nice tobacco and spice background with just a hint of vanilla. They didn't go overboard on the American oak here. Tannins are firm, but approachable. By no means complex, but perfect for BBQ'd meats.

March 2, 2015 - Dark ruby. Stemmy plum fruit on the nose, with some sweet spicy chocolate notes. Jammy fruit on the palate with some barely restraining acids, tannins quite prominent but well integrated. Long finish. A good party wine, crude but appealing. 50 + 15 + 15 + 7.

February 10, 2015 - Ruby. Nose of spice, stems, and plum. Sweet core of plum on the palate, with mulled clove notes, nice acid tannin base, medium finish. 50 + 15 + 15 + 6.

    October 15, 2014 - 35-year-old vines, 4 months in oak.
    Needs to breath 20 min.
Good value for the price (despite the considerable markup - at Fino restaurant). Nice on it's own, but probably be at it's best with more substantial food.
