December 28, 2018 - 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot aged 30 months in oak.
Moderate sediment detected on decant. Deep, opaque and glass staining purple/red.
The nose opens with complex aromas of dense dark cherry, cassis, and blackberry compote that are knitted with scents of vanilla, herbs, tobacco, pepper, baking spice, cocoa and a hint of toasted nuts along with the warming sensation from the alcohol.
Full bodied on the palate showing ripe-full-fine tannins, above moderate mid-palate density, alcohol and acidity. Rich and dense flavors penetrate the palate with luxardo cherry, cassis, fleshy black plum and berry compote, vanilla, herbs, spice, ganache, tobacco and hints of roasted hazelnut and cedar. The finish lingers.

January 22, 2016 - A bit of a brute right now and it could have used more than an hour decant. The heavy blackberries do allow some blueberries and red fruits and herbs along with sweet Oak to appear. The alcohol is under control (barely). This has the potential for some real upside in a half dozen years.

April 8, 2015 - Decanted this for about 3 hours before drinking and thought this was a great wine. bit of alcohol on opening but really settled down after long decant. Very full bodied, full throttle cab that wasn't overbearing or heavy. Lots of spice and cedar and dark fruit/berries with a nice long finish.

December 16, 2013 - Aromas of currant, cedar, mocha, dark cherry, fresh pencil shavings, bay leaf, dried flowers and hints of pepper. The aromas continue to evolve elegantly with more and more air time!
Clear and vibrant on the palate with excellent integrated moderate-plus acidity and ripe, moderate tannins that grip assertively but not aggressively. Flavors, clearly cab, currant, cherry, peppercorns, bay leaf, cedar, and mocha. Long on the moderate-plus finish, lingering on flavors of pepper spice and cassis. Big but not heavy!

December 2, 2013 - Decanted thirty minutes before drinking. Full bodied with a touch of heat. Chocolate covered cherries, espresso, rubber fishing worms, orange peel, cedar and spice. Nice long finish. Very nice for the price.

October 23, 2013 - Ruby purple in color, the 2010 Spare Me is what an easy-drinking Cabernet should be. Spicy, toasty aromas of pepper, vanilla, tobacco, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg (the whole spice rack!) set you up for the luxardo maraschino cherry, toasted coconut and tapioca flavors in the mouth. A finish of hazelnut, black cherry and blueberry completes this beautifully balanced, vibrant wine.
