May 20, 2017 - Even ruby color. Gorgeous aromatic mix of red fruit, garrigue, and tapenade. Medium weight, lush, coating texture, beautiful ripeness of raspberry and cherry balanced by acidity and multiple savory elements. I feel very fortunate to have caught this in full blossom and with attractive elements of both old and new Chateauneuf in its depth of fruit at age 13 accompanied by ample complexity. Dynamite bottle.

December 22, 2016 - Honey Butter Fried Chicken and blinds (Chicago, IL): Served double-blind. Very ripe and sappy, with some clear residual sugar on the palate. Lots of ripe plum and prune flavours here, almost to the point of being just a little bit stewed. There was a bit of age on this, which actually gave it some more complexity. I ended up guessing 1998 CdP; I was very surprised to learn that this wine came from a relatively leaner year, as this tasted very ripe and full-bodied to my palate.

November 14, 2016 - Boy - this was a revelation and significantly better than other bottles. Light garnet color that fades to light pink at rim. Wild, ripe berry nose that also displays scents of mocha and leather. This is the first bottle that has shown ripe but not over handled fruit. The palate is full and certainly not shy, but it is pure with little obvious heat. A great wine to drink with fall flavored roasts. I can't see it getting better but the past few years have been very kind to this wine. Delicious. (95)

November 12, 2016 - It has the character of both the vintage and the cuvée; it is cool, elegant, fresh, but still very concentrated with a core of liqouer and a vibrant , sweet Grenache-fruit. Approachable, but still young.

August 30, 2016 - Black cherry, plum, almost prune, fruit driven; balanced with tannins well hidden by the intensity of fruit , some heat on the finish
