November 14, 2016 - Boy - this was a revelation and significantly better than other bottles. Light garnet color that fades to light pink at rim. Wild, ripe berry nose that also displays scents of mocha and leather. This is the first bottle that has shown ripe but not over handled fruit. The palate is full and certainly not shy, but it is pure with little obvious heat. A great wine to drink with fall flavored roasts. I can't see it getting better but the past few years have been very kind to this wine. Delicious. (95)

November 12, 2016 - It has the character of both the vintage and the cuvée; it is cool, elegant, fresh, but still very concentrated with a core of liqouer and a vibrant , sweet Grenache-fruit. Approachable, but still young.

July 13, 2016 - From magnum. I was very disappointed by this - roasted plums, coffee and liquorice with lots of heat showing. It did settle and the alcohol integrate with about 30mins in a glass, but that just increased the perception of non-distinct sweetness and roasted fruit. This continues my run of disappointing Janasse VV bottles recently. Hard to score but would place in 86-89pt range and would not seek this wine again.

Same magnum as Julian and left it longer in the glass and it did get more integrated but it is quite jammy.

June 22, 2016 - I loved Cuvée Chaupin of the same vintage, but didn't really enjoy this one. Too hot, stewed and plump. Contrary to what I expected - serving it colder than usual only made it worse. Earthy, overripe, burnt fruit on the nose and palate. Sweetish but without balancing accidity and no freshness. It was more or less ok shortly after opening, but went downhill afterwards. It was quite decent when paired with strawberries - somwhow this pairing worked.
