December 20, 2014 - My next to the last bottle from a case. Pop and pour . This wine is still strutt'n its stuff. Well integrated flavors of dark fruits, smoke, earth and a little tannin. This wine is a real overachiever.

November 1, 2014 - Decanted for 1 hour. Drank over 1 and 1/2 hours. Started out a 94 ended a 91. This my last of a 6 pack. I gave the wine a 95 2 years ago. Power is gone. Fruit is there but diminished. End with a little bitter.

    October 22, 2014 - giddily delicious but 5 -- 10? -- years ahead.

September 20, 2014 - Opened, revealing a very dark, dense jam filled nose of pedigreed fruit, dusty wood, sage, mineral, vanilla and cherry. Smooth, fruit holding well and structured. There's a creamy velvety texture to this wine. Very nice showing on day one. Day two, very thick and fleshy, dense with menthol notes, but fruit has receded. Aromas are thought provoking, with additional licorice and black currant elements. Seems to be consumed best in one setting at this point.

August 31, 2014 - Gritty and viscous--not at all like I had remembered these.

(VINA ALMAVIVA) COLOR-obnoxiously great pitch black, NOSE-huge aromatic, new world; TASTE-BIG WINE, tannins, thick, viscous, massive, new world fruit (dark cherry, blackberry, black currant), but Bordeaux structure. REALLY IMPRESSED, WS-95, GV-93
