February 16, 2016 - Coravin Marathon with Tim, Ben, Michael (Wingtip): Nutty, oxidative. Delightful and complex nose.
In the mouth, super nutty - unsalted roasted almonds, strong and persistent acid (high TA?).
Complex mid-palate flavors of fruitcake, roasted almond, and dried orange peel.

    Moderately sweet- 50-60g/L?
Based on the oxidation, sweetness, and strong acid I'm guessing Madeira - Verdelho or Boal.

    This is actually:
    1983 d'Oliveiras Boal

    From driest to sweetest:
    sercial - verdelho - boal - malmsey

January 3, 2015 - From memory, not a note. Enjoyable, but a bit simple compared to other vintages from the same producer.

December 10, 2014 - Similar to my last bottle. Pleasant nutty and caramel notes, but a bit subdued, lacking the depth and power this producer normally delivers.

December 1, 2014 - I must say, this was a bit disappointing. Still a nice Madeira, but the power, length and breadth I would expect was not there. A bit of VA distracted. This was a pop and pour, so perhaps it will improve. UPDATE: On day 2, this remained pretty much the same.
