August 22, 2023 - Much darker than I recall the first bottle being. This bottle had a lot of solids in it and really required filtering to remove them. It tasted somewhat over-oxidized with the filtering and rather nicely fresh with it. The Grenache really dominates. We liked this one a lot and killed it off in two days.

April 15, 2022 - Another two years have passed since my last taste of this wonderful CDP.
As before, this just gets better and better with age. Black currants, pepper, leather and berries. Nice balance and acidity with a smooth, velvety texture.

August 25, 2021 - An elegant dark red wine. Black cherry and plum fruits with a bit of spice the first day. Second day a very smooth melody of dark fruit. Nice finish.

July 8, 2021 - Briary and tar, some blueberry, anise nose. Blackberry fruit, pepper, lots of acidity (almost too bright suggests it wants more time). Tannins work and have more time too. Will continue to improve IMO for 5 years.

June 25, 2021 - Agree with Derek Darth Taster

P@P. Drank in Gabriel Gold Edition glass
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, purplish ruby colour. Long legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of dark red cherries, blackberries, garrigue, hot stones minerality. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, high alcohol (15.5%!), structured high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of black licorice, kirsch cherry liqueur, glossy black cherries, blackberries, stony minerality, spicebox, emerging leathery meat. Long finish.
Very good quality. With another 3-4 years of age should be even better. Classic Grenache dominant CdP feels. Showing nice ripe fruit in spades, without the alcoholic heat.

June 5, 2021 - Clear medium ruby with big legs; clean medium nose of ripe red cherries, cinnamon and savoury herbs; dry; high acidity; medium tannins; high alcohol; medium plus body; pronounced flavour intensity; palate is tarter with addition of black licorice, tar, leather and cassis; long finish; drink now; disappointing nose gives way to fabulous palate; this was our last bottle - will definitely be seeking out this producer

May 1, 2021 - A more rustic style next to the flashier and younger Chapoutier Croix du Bois. More tobacco / cigar box and crushed stone notes (in a good way). Less pronounced fruit but some plum and dried dark fruits swirl in and out.

January 30, 2021 - Clear pale/medium ruby/garnet; clean medium plus nose of ripe red cherries, slight balsamic, savoury herbs and slight mulling spices; dry; high acidity; high tannins; high alcohol; medium plus body; pronounced flavour intensity; palate fruit is about as ripe as nose with addition of cocoa, cigar box and fig; long finish; drinking really well now or could wait 1 or 2 years; fantastic wine - a Super Tuscan masquerading as a CdP
