March 19, 2016 - Smooth as silk. Looking forward to cracking my first 2014.
March 29, 2015 - Similar to my earlier note. These show best with just a little chill. Nice value for $25.
January 20, 2015 - I like this best just below cellar temp, where it shows nice white peach and honeysuckle notes. It shows a bitter fruit pit element when chilled too low, so don't overdo it.
January 10, 2015 - Pear, lemon and nice aromatics
September 18, 2014 - Delicate, floral, fascinating and delicious. Another example of how Mike Smith can draw complexity out of a varietal to achieve something truly special!
August 4, 2014 - Popped and poured at a temp. slightly below cellar. Medium-light to medium yellow gold hue. Initially tight, after a good 30-45 minutes the nose comes to life with sliced pear, honeysuckle, jasmine and melted wax. Medium body. While flavors in mouth largely mirror the nose, there's an additional depth of fruit...almost veering tropical, with an interesting note sandalwood talcum powder providing some contrast. A tinge of acidity lend a subtle impression of minerals on the close, which lingers on for quite some time. Still young, this should only improve over the short term and will age decently for some time after.
June 29, 2014 - Damn, I went to the cellar and quickly pulled a Myriad Sem but didn't realize it was my last Tofanelli until I went to write the note. When I read the note from my last one it wa dejavu all over again. Great bottle of wine. Unfortunately no more left.
May 22, 2014 - Mid-week treat paired with Blackened King Salmon and Spinach Salad. From 40 year old dry farmed organic vines.
Great florals of nectarine, pear and pineapple with a citrus zest note. Palate is oily lemony and rich with lovely acidity and nice mid-palate heft. Finishes long and fresh exhibiting a grassy lemon/lime fruit and leaving a tart spicy note on my lips.
May 19, 2014 - Mike Smith Winemaker Event (Fulton Market Kitchen - Chicago): Creamy, pineapple, clean fresh.
April 7, 2014 - Impressions from a weekend in Napa Valley (Napa Valley): Similar in fruit profile to the McGah with all that yellow fruit, but not as expansive and round, a little bit leaner on the mid palate.
