November 23, 2018 - 90-93 is Excellent on the CellarTracker rating scale and we gave this a 91. Not a timid wine...
At 6 years old, this is just peaking now, so I wonder how relevant prior review are. This is a fruit-forward Pinot from Monterey County, but everything is balanced and integrated well. Strong notes of dark, dark cherry, loamy/earthy, touches of oak which are present, but not dominant. This is on the robust side for Pinots, but it turned out to be a great pairing for Thanksgiving turkey along with all the usual suspects.
I personally prefer Roar (more expensive) and Hahn (tad less expensive) than this winery, but I do enjoy Boekenoogen. Any of these Pinots need at least 5-6 year of age to reach their best. This one should be good for at least a couple more years.

November 22, 2014 - Classic fruity Santa Lucia Pinot. Bright red sweet Bing cherries, a little spice with a firm acidic backbone. Nice
