January 1, 2017 - Medium garner in the glass, aromatic nose mostly black fruits, fruit on the palate is ripe with some candied flavors, black cherry, black currant, plum, notes of leather, anise, vanilla and spice leading into a medium long finish. Seems to be drinking near its peak, Very nice.

November 21, 2014 - An enjoyable wine and tends to be a crowd pleaser. Definitely give it plenty of time in the decanter - will surrender a lot more complexity if given significant air. Wine will likely improve with more time in the cellar - it has good structure (both acid & round tannins) for a Zinfandel. Between 7.5 & 8/10. 87-88.

October 16, 2014 - Very spicy the first night, though that mellowed the second. Good fruit (red and black) and nice body. Given the improvement overnight, a decant might be called for if you drink now.

June 20, 2014 - Rich with a sappy, dark core. Full fruit but not sweet fruit. Fine oaky tannins. A bit big for my taste.

April 15, 2014 - The dark garnet juice is an explosion of black berries, candied cherries, some licorice on the nose and in the mouth, along with some spice and delicious acidity. I would drink this over the next couple of years to enjoy all the fruit and spice this zin has to offer.

March 31, 2014 - I didn't like this as much as the 2012 Papera that I had a few nights ago. Where the two wines diverged is I found the Papera more balanced and fleshy, great acid whereas this AVA bottling here was tight and also the alcohol impacts the wine as a bit strong for me. Only had a glass over dinner as I shared this with a few friends so nothing to retaste to see if it evolved.
