April 20, 2024 - Such a vibrant, powerful young wine, 16 years young. I plan to save the next bottle for a minimum of five years.

Exuberant nose of shoe polish, black cherry, leather, vanilla, earth. My Italian table mate said it reminded him of the Italian countryside (he said Italian shrubs).

Palate very dry, high acidity, high coarse tannins with years left in them, high alcohol (15%), full body, long finish.

Drink now or cellar for greater enjoyment on the future.

December 19, 2020 - Decanted. Dark Plum, deep dark cherry. Has the backbone and deep flavors of a fine wine. Hint of oak is there but so well integrated and balanced it is seamless. Power and elegance make this the complete package.

February 21, 2019 - Initially the restaurant manager and I thought it might be flawed and then we realized this was acting as a well aged Burgundy or Bordeaux, even Barolo. At one point the manager suggested Amarone due to a real raisin characteristic to the nose. The pallet reflected the nose exactly yet was not offensive but alluring with chocolate and tobacco notes along with the Iron, blood and meat. It had deep aromas of Blood, meat, leather with smoke which was not expected and why it threw us off. I still can't say it wasn't oxidized and flawed but it did go well with venison but I will reserve scoring due to my ignorance.

October 18, 2017 - Casanova di Neri dinner (Ai Fiori (Langham Hotel on 5th Ave)): Lovely and elegant. For some this was the favorite in the flight and I can see why. Black fruits. More tannins. Very young and needs more time, but it's quite nice.

July 2, 2017 - First encounter with this wine. Chocolate, ripe cherries and oh so chalky tannins. Clearly from a cooler vintage. - Enomatic machine in Montepulciano
